My name is Mona Sorensen. I am a 40-year-old mother of 2 girls, Florence (4months) and Anoushka (9 years old). I am also a therapist and a running coach, and recently set up my own wellness practice called Mantra Coaching.

I have lived in Denmark, Tanzania and now the UK, and being of mixed heritage myself (Danish/ Indian) I consider myself a global nomad. This has made it pretty easy for me to adapt to any culture, fuelling my own passion for travel and exploration. I believe that life is a journey, not a destination, and believe that we all have the power within us to make the changes we want in our lives.

Running is one of my passions, though I have several others, which include good coffee, triathlons, swimming, dark chocolate and helping people.

This project appealed to me because I also love photography. I think pictures tell such an amazing story. One picture captured, is one small moment paused in history. I take a lot of photos myself, because as a global nomad I always felt the need to keep a record of my life. It became important to me, living in different countries, to take a part of that country with me when I left, in the form of a photograph. I am an amateur photographer though, and don’t even own a proper camera. But with my iPhone I have certainly managed to capture some of the most important moments in my life.
