My name is Romy, I am 35 years young and I am from the great city of Leipzig in East Germany, just like the fabulous founder of this project, Anja! My lovely redhead, who I know since Kindergarten, is the longest and one of the very best friends I have and is living my childhood dream, being a photographer.

When I was in highschool and we had to do our first internship, I was certain it would be in the biggest photography studio in Leipzig – Foto Rechtnitz. Please don’t ask me why I didn’t follow that dream, I really don’t know. I studied business administration instead and moved to London after graduation to do what I didn’t want to do – work in IT outside of London. I love London! And I also started loving my job in Sales for Kingston Technology. If you are a photographer, you may know Kingston, as they produce memory cards for cameras. When I left London after 4.5 years (during that time I was trying to convince Anja several times to come over) I stuck to IT and now work on the lovely Costa del Sol in Spain for Oracle.

Malaga has been my home for the past 5 years. I also found the love of my life here, who I convinced to join this project, even before I even decided to join myself. He on the other hand was very convinced to ask me for my hand in marriage – which he did in front of Anja’s camera in the great area of El Torcal, where we used to hike together.
Yes, hiking is one of my passions and the biggest challenge so far was the Pico de Orizaba in Mexico, with an altitude of 5.636m. I’ve never been so cold in my life, but I also never experienced such a feeling of accomplishment like when I was resting on the icy edge of that crater. Besides being high up, I also like to be deep down. I am an Advanced Padi Diver and I find diving to be one the sports where you can switch off the most and forget about all the troubles around you. It’s just you and the bubbles from the regulator when you breeze out. No other noise, just the beauty of the world under seas, whilst floating around. My best dive so far was on The Keys in Florida, where I was swimming with turtles and sharks. Other activities to keep my sometimes hectic life in balance are Ashtanga Yoga and climbing.

2017 is going to be an exciting year for me. Besides me and my iPhone6 being part of “twelve months”, I’ll get married on the 13th of May and will be a happy mum of a baby boy around the 5th July.
